Meet the team: Our sustainability guru Felicity

Felicity is our Sustainability Manager. She is so passionate about sustainability and believes that businesses should all they can, to be kind to people and our planet.

An introduction from Eve

Felicity inspires me every day and I feel really honoured that I get to work with her every day. I learn so much about sustainability from her and how it is not about being perfect with it, it is just doing the right thing by people and the planet. It is hard running a business at times in a world that puts profit first but Felicity has a knack of ensuring that we hit that sweet spot.

How did your journey with Baba+Boo begin?

I started with Baba+Boo in 2019 picking and packing the orders.  I had worked for corporate businesses for 10 years and I wanted to work for a company who genuinely wanted to do good in the world.  Within 5 minutes of meeting Eve, I knew I had struck gold with the perfect company.  As a business, we are extremely passionate about people and the planet, so to be part of such a wonderful brand makes me very proud.  I am also a mum to my 18 month old little boy and it brings me joy seeing his little bottom in Baba+Boo reusables.

Best piece of parenting advice that was given to you?

Just go with the flow. I had a rocky start to parenthood and every phase felt like it would go on forever. I wish I had just relaxed into it more at the start but hindsight is a wonderful thing!

What advice would you give to a new parent?

If you are having a tough time, it will pass and you are definitely not alone.  I always feel relief when I hear another parent say "Me too" if they're also going through a difficult phase or they have just been through one.  Every parent will sympathise with whatever you're going through.

What is your top tip for living sustainably?

Sustainability can feel like quite a big, intimidating word but the small individual acts we can all take, make a massive difference.  If you can take a reusable bag to do your shopping, swap meat out of a meal or walk a short journey, don't underestimate the power of these actions.

Best moment with Baba+Boo so far?

Seeing more parents try reusable nappies and knowing what a positive impact they have.

Favourite charity?

PANDAS Foundation - the mental health support they offer parents and families is incredible.

Quick fire round:

What’s your superpower?

I eat crisps at an astonishing rate to the point where I think I am 90% crisp.

What is your favourite book?

The Five by Hallie Rubenhold.

Guilty pleasure?

Probably crisps again!

Favourite way to spend a Sunday?

Just pottering and going out with my little boy, he absolutely loves the outdoors whatever the weather.

What did you want to be when you were growing up?

I wanted to be a hairdresser but after cutting my fringe at a 45 degree angle, I quickly realised I didn't have the skills!

Favourite eco-friendly swap or hack?

A reusable nappy.  Even if you start with one, that's a wonderful change.
