A Gift For Our Amazing Manufacturers

For us at Baba+Boo our community is everything. From our amazing cloth bum mums and dads to the makers who sew our nappies, we’re proud to be surrounded by such an amazing bunch. Our community is what makes us, so whenever we get the chance to give back, we grab it with both hands. 

We’ve worked hard to find a manufacturer who shares our values and ethos and it’s vital to us that our nappies are created by happy hands. We know how important festivals are in Chinese culture, so when we knew that the Mid-Autumn Festival was coming up, we took this opportunity to celebrate too. The Mid-Autumn Festival is a celebration of the moon being at its brightest and fullest in the sky which coincides with the Autumn harvest. We heard from Fred, our manufacturer, that this is a time of huge importance for his workers, and a time when they can come together with their families in celebration.  

Traditionally, mooncakes are eaten and lanterns are used to symbolise prosperity and good luck. We wanted to show our manufacturing team just how much we value them, so we arranged with Fred to gift every one of his employees a special box of mooncakes. 

We were so moved by the photos they sent back and it was incredible to see how a small token could have such a lovely impact. 

Here are a few words from our Fred:

"I'm really touched! First of all, on behalf of all our makers, I would like to express my most sincere thanks and blessings to you. Thank you very much for your care for all the workers in our factory, including their families. In China, the Mid-Autumn Festival is a very important festival after the Chinese New Year. This day happens to be the night of the full moon, and the Chinese take this to symbolize the membership and integrity of the family. Therefore, it is usually on this day that the family gather together to enjoy the food and feel the warmth of home.  

“I have distributed the gift moon cakes to everyone in our team. I translated and printed your words onto the colourful papers and put them into the envelopes. I must say thank you again! Our workers are very very happy! The sister who took the photos was even moved to tears. Everyone was clapping at when she read "We are so grateful to you for your hard work." 

We’re so grateful for our manufacturing team and we can’t thank them enough for all their hard work and their dedication to create products that are kind to our planet.
